EMAIL TIPS
- Email Subject Line : (Player Name, Grad Year)
- Always address the Coach by name, never start an email with “Coach” only
- Ex. Coach Smith or Coach Dice
- Be specific about who you are and where you attend school, graduation years are crucial to college coaches so you need to include this information
- Be specific about why you are contacting this coach – coaches get hundreds of emails a day and yours needs to stick out!
- Include your NCAA ID# – this will allow coaches to pass along your information to their compliance office quickly and figure out if you are a NCAA Qualifier
- Include your competitive schedule and results – golf is ultimately a numbers game and your scores and results in tournaments matter
- Have you taken the SAT or ACT? Include test scores and a cumulative GPA – test scores and grades are important to coaches – as a collegiate golfer, you are on the road and miss quite a bit of school and it shows them your time management skills
- What other information do you personally want to share with the coach? Include this in the last few sentences
- Include your Player Profile PDF – Everything that the college coach need to know will be included in your player profile sheet. Your player profile sheet includes:
- GPA
- High School
- NCAA ID
- Email Address
- Cell phone number
- Updated Schedule
- Updated Results
- Updated Swing Stats (If Applicable)
- Swing Coach’s Information
- Wrap up the email by thanking the coach for their time and reiterating to them that you hope to be in touch or see them on the golf course soon
