Recruiting Guidelines for Juniors

Are you prepared for one of the most important years of your student-athlete career?
recruiting guidelines

The junior year of high school is very important in any prospective student-athletes career. While some may call this year the MOST important, I could argue that EVERY year is vital to the success of any high school student. The excitement of junior year also comes with new recruiting rules for both the athlete and the coaches.

Here are some of the key recruiting guidelines:

  • Telephone calls can be made at the student-athletes discretion and may be returned starting June 15th following the completion of the sophomore year.
  • All forms of electronic correspondence are now permissible beginning June 15th following the sophomore year. Electronic correspondence can be as simple as texting with members of the coaching staff, sending/receiving emails, or chatting via social media.
  • Recruiting materials (non-athletic publications, questionnaires, camp brochures) may be received on June 15th following the completion of the sophomore year.
  • Off-campus contact is allowed beginning on August 1st before the beginning of the junior year.
  • Unofficial visits can continue but now student-athletes can speak with the coaches or athletics staff members beginning August 1st before the junior year.
  • Official visits are permissible beginning August 1st before the junior year. Only one official visit per college is allowed with a maximum of five visits taken total.
